Prosper Natural Health provides an opportunity for students to shadow physicians focused on natural healthcare as well as intern in a medical office administrative role learning to provide excellent patient care. Additionally Prosper has a unique natural apothecary which students can become acquainted with natural medicines while learning the inns and outs of inventory management- a vital business skill. Another unique possibility for students is offered through Prosper Bodyworks, our yoga (both non-heated and hot)/movement center. Students may shadow teachers or beginning training to become yoga or movement teachers to help others achieve wellness through movement. They may new plan their own movement class offerings and teach at the movement center if they are able to demonstrate aptitude. Another volunteer type opportunity which is available would be to create a reflexology pathway outside of the wellness center on the ocean front patio out of Beach rocks and cement. This therapeutic reflexology pathway or garden could provide our community with a healing space focused on balancing organ systems through traditional medicine and the art of reflexology in the picturesque setting of waterfront space overlooking the opening to the Port of Port Townsend. A reflexology garden would provide a senior project student with the ability to knit together the science of the healing arts with a physical construction process requiring both an artistic vision as well as a practical element of mathematical calculations of tools and building materials required.
