CedarRoot Folk School
CedarRoot School offers outdoor education for ages 7 to 14, with occasional summer expeditions for older teens. Our classrooms are the ecosystems of the Olympic Peninsula and our programs are designed around spending time out in nature, playing games, having fun, and learning about the natural world. During the school year CedarRoot offers after school programs on Early Release days at Sunfield and Blue Heron, as well as a day program option. In the summer months, we offer week-long day camps with a range of themes from Outdoor Cooking to Forest Gymnastics to Projectiles. CedarRoot partners with Jefferson County 4H, and all of our youth instructors are trained in first aid and advanced nature mentoring techniques.
